This was an IWS run-to-waste drip system with nutrients from the Shogun range: Samurai Coco A and B, PK Warrior 9/18 and Katana Roots. N said he was giving them a try for the first time and found them to be pretty average, certainly nothing outstanding.
N used a 20L Air-Pot with CANNA Coco with added Charge and Xtreme Gardening Mykos Pure Mycorrhizal Innoculant. He's a big fan of Ecothrive's frass, saying it always helps establish a strong root network in his grows - he just mixes it in with the medium at the start and never looks back.
The plant was vegged for about five weeks and tied down until it covered about 80% of the light footprint of the tent, then it was flipped. After another two weeks the second net went on, and any growth underneath the first net was removed.
The tent was a Secret Jardin DR240W and he just used one half of it for this Amnesia plant. There were two Lumatek 600W HPS bulbs down the sides and one Solis Tek 2K 600W metal hallide bulb down the middle for the last two weeks. He finds the Solis Tek has better UV coverage for better resin production and he could see a visible difference in crystals under this central light.
The fan was an 8" Isomax Can-Fan with an 8" Phresh Filter and normal combi ducting. Apparently the Isomax was really quiet and produced good air movement. N said the filter was light considering the size and there were no problems with smell. There were also two clip fans in there for an additional breeze.
Towards the end of flower N saw a bit of thrip damage. His usual routine is spraying S B Plant Invigorator (sometimes combined with neem oil) in veg, but he says most of the time he can't be bothered as long as they're in low numbers! He did apply some sachets of Amblyseius Cucumeris (predatory mites) from Fargro though. This plant needed around five or six sachets and it only costs around £1 per sachet. You just hang them up around the plant and they're slow release meaning they contain both adults and larvae which control the thrip population over a period of a few weeks.
So in the end N took home 24~25oz and the smoke report was: "Amazing, perhaps the nicest I've ever smoked! Very strong and a proper nice Haze." Safe to say this one was a success, and we look forward to more content from N on Greenage in the future.
