We've been lucky enough to get some photos from a new contributor we'll call Dr O. This guy just recently returned from a trip to Spain where he was helping a friend out there making extracts, so here are a few of his holiday snaps!
"A big bucket of bud. This one is Moby Dick. We were using all outdoor-grown material with a high moisture content and some bits of mould! A lot of what we ended up with was quite dark in colour."
"We were testing some new kit from BHO Hardware. This is a closed loop setup meaning the butane can be vented off or reused and not just pumped into the air. This blast tube has a 450g capacity. "

"Extract fresh from the bowl. We were air purging at this point. It has a high viscosity so it holds its shape. There's only so much you can purge in the air though so this went it the oven where it spread out again once heated."
"The golden extract on the left is butane hash oil dissolved in isopropyl. The extract on the right is iso oil and isopropyl pulls out chlorophyll, hence the dark colour. These are both being mixed on magnetic stirrers and the alcohol is being extracted through a hood. It took about a day to complete the extraction this way and the final product (THC oil) will end up in syringes or capsules for cancer patients. It will also be tested soon at Canna for THC and CBD."
